Employee Bus Pass Information

For the 2012-2013 academic year, we are continuing to offer the Employee Bus Pass program that uses your Spartan ID Card.

How Does It Work?

Your Spartan Card (MSU ID card) will serve as your employee bus pass for 2012/2013. All eligible employees will be programmed in the system to use this feature. When you enter the bus, you will swipe the magnetic stripe on your ID card through the bus farebox just as you did with the previous employee passes.

When and Where Can I Use It?

Your bus pass feature is valid August 27, 2012 - December 16, 2012 and January 7, 2013 - March 1, 2013 and March 10 - May 5, 2013. The pass is only available when the campus Spartan Service is in operation and does not include the breaks.

Your pass may be used ONLY on MSU campus bus routes 30 thru 36, 39, Lot Link & Night Owl. Go to cata.org for schedules and route maps. Transfers to other CATA routes are not available with the MSU employee pass.

Who Is Eligible?

All regular MSU employees defined as full-time and part-time (50%-89.9%) faculty, academic and support staff (receiving benefits of 50% or greater) are eligible for the bus pass.

Employee appointments such as on-call, temporary, adjunct, clinical, Visiting Scholars (and similar positions where you are not being paid at least 50% time by MSU), spouses and retirees, are not eligible.

The bus pass is intended solely for your use while on campus and is NOT transferable to another person.
